About the Role

The EDO Sustainable1 Data Operations team at S&P Global is an international, project-focused group dedicated to sustainability data management. The team maintains one of the most comprehensive datasets on corporate sustainability, supporting global investors, corporations, and stakeholders with ESG insights. Through a collaborative and agile environment, the group contributes to innovation in sustainability indices and benchmarking methodologies.
As part of S&P’s ESG team, the Data Analyst will help build and maintain accurate, complete, and timely datasets. The role supports the integrity and depth of the database by researching information from public sources such as regulatory filings, stock exchanges, CSR reports, industry journals, analyst publications, and internal tools.
Role and Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and timely environmental datasets while considering global business needs and stakeholder requirements.
- Work with team members and management on initiatives related to Trucost and ESG operations.
- Collect, standardize, and validate information about business relations, competitors, products, and services using companies’ published reports.
- Meet predefined individual and team performance targets while maintaining quality standards.
- Operate within defined procedures and supervision to ensure data quality and operational efficiency.
- Stay informed about industry developments and reporting standards to strengthen subject knowledge.
- Provide suggestions for improved data collection methods and enhancements to existing processes.
- Troubleshoot issues and offer support to team members when required.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration or Environmental Science.
- Willingness to work in rotational shifts, including night shifts.
- Strong quantitative, analytical, and interpretation abilities.
- Capability to manage multiple tasks and work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Effective written and verbal communication along with sound computer proficiency.
- Experience with internet-based research and Microsoft Office tools.
- ESG certification is considered an advantage.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to prioritize tasks and deliver within tight deadlines.
- Interest in research with an investigative mindset and attention to detail.
- Professional approach when interacting with different teams and stakeholders.
- Knowledge of advanced Excel, Power BI, SQL, and database management.
- Self-initiative, persistence, and a detail-oriented working style.
