The opening is within S&P’s Transactions division, which publishes Mergers & Acquisitions and Capital Market data. The Transaction Researcher acts as an in-house expert and gains detailed exposure to covered regions while interacting with global teams to understand industry dynamics.
The Transactions team is a diverse global group focused on client service and maintaining high data quality. The team culture promotes education about the industry, encourages idea sharing, and supports long term professional growth in a fast paced environment.
This role offers exposure to global transaction markets and helps build a strong understanding of industry dynamics. You will develop knowledge of assigned sectors and apply it to day to day analytical responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Track and gather detailed information and data in proprietary databases according to S&P guidelines for assigned sectors.
- Extract and verify information using search tools, press releases, company websites, trade documents, and regulatory filings.
- Contribute ideas to improve data collection methods and support product enhancements.
- Review feedback related to transaction content to correct errors and improve procedures for better accuracy.
- Meet defined individual and team targets while maintaining quality standards.
- Stay updated with industry developments and evolving reporting standards.
What We’re Looking For
- MBA or M.Com with a strong academic background.
- Understanding of corporate finance, capital markets, and valuation methods.
- Familiarity with financial statements and interpretation of annual reports.
- Ability to multitask and work collaboratively while meeting deadlines.
- Strong quantitative and analytical abilities with attention to detail.
- Capability to conduct efficient online research on thematic topics.
- Experience with databases or automation tools is an advantage.
- Flexibility to work in different shifts if required.
