Job Description

Qualcomm is looking for Modem-RF Wireless software engineers at the 0-1 years of experience level, with knowledge of RF and digital communications. You will develop and validate software for Qualcomm's Modem-RF Wireless chipsets.

The Modem-RF Software Team at Qualcomm India:

• Develops drivers for leading Modem-RF Transceivers in close collaboration with RF Hardware, Modem/Baseband and RF ASIC teams, forming the core of Qualcomm's communication system solution.
• Creates, develops and optimizes Modem and RF Transceiver, Antenna and RF Front End algorithms and software modules to improve system performance, factory yields and RF testability.
• Provides Modem-RF driver expertise for investigating complex RF and Modem issues in a cross-functional hardware and software environment.
• Works closely with physical layer teams to deliver new features that keep Qualcomm Modem performance competitive.
• Collaborates with RF and Modem Systems, Hardware and Test Engineering through the product development cycles.

Minimum and Preferred Qualifications

• Strong C programming skills with an understanding of RF and/or communications systems, plus knowledge of digital communications and RF theory. Understanding of embedded real time systems is desired. Experience in LTE or 5G wireless systems is a plus. Good communication skills and a team player mindset are required.
• C and/or C++ software programming and debugging skills on embedded real time operating systems (RTOS).
• Good understanding of software engineering concepts.
• Good understanding of wireless communication systems.
• Knowledge of wireless communication in radio access technologies (e.g. LTE, 5GNR) is a plus.
• Wireless system knowledge applicable to Modem-RF software, communication theory and radio architecture.
• Modem or communications device driver development experience is an added advantage.
• Working knowledge of HW and RF test equipment (protocol test equipment, spectrum analyzer, oscilloscope, etc.).
• Fresh graduates need a good understanding of C and/or C++, software engineering concepts with focus on embedded software, digital and wireless communications, ECE fundamentals and RF theory.
