As a Software Engineer, you will design and develop software for Qualcomm mobile chipsets built on advanced technology platforms.
Technology Areas
- Multimedia technologies including audio and video codecs, and image processing
- Wireless modem technologies such as 4G, WiFi, Bluetooth, and self organizing networks
- Platform level software including Linux, Android, Windows, and board support packages
- IoT technologies supporting connected cameras, smart assistants, drones, virtual reality, and augmented reality
Responsibilities and Work Areas
- Development of real time embedded software and device drivers
- Mobile software development for Android, Windows Mobile, or Linux platforms
- Design and development using object oriented programming
- Work on multimedia software stacks, firmware, and driver development
- Wireless modem and connectivity software and firmware development
- Communication protocol stack development
- Kernel, BSP, and device driver development
- Application software and UI development
- Software architecture for embedded devices based on Android or Windows
Technical Knowledge
- Strong understanding of operating system concepts and data structures
- Proficiency in C or C++ with object oriented design
- Knowledge of wireless standards such as CDMA, GSM, UMTS, and LTE
- Experience with Linux or UNIX environments, including kernel and driver development
- Understanding of networking protocols such as TCP, UDP, IP, SIP, and RTP
- Exposure to multimedia technologies including audio, video, and imaging
Engineers in this role collaborate closely with teams to design, implement, and optimize software for next generation mobile and connected technologies.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field
