About the Role
NVIDIA is seeking a highly motivated PhD Intern specializing in AI and Machine Learning applications for wireless Layer1/Layer2 systems. This internship offers a unique opportunity to work with cutting-edge GPU-accelerated technologies, contributing to the development of AI-native 6G solutions within the Aerial CUDA Accelerated RAN (ACAR) framework.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and optimize AI/ML modules for wireless signal processing functional blocks.
- Conduct literature surveys to evaluate existing AI/ML approaches for Radio Access Networks (RAN).
- Identify and implement suitable ML architectures for targeted RAN functions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance over-the-air (OTA) performance and computational efficiency.
- Benchmark AI models for performance improvements across various hardware platforms.
- Iteratively train, test, and refine ML models for optimal results.
Required Qualifications
- Currently enrolled as a full-time PhD student in AI and Wireless domains.
- Availability to intern for at least 6 months starting late January 2026.
- Strong understanding of wireless Layer1/Layer2 functions and algorithms.
- Expertise in AI/ML concepts, including Transformers and CNNs.
- Hands-on experience with Matlab and Python for signal processing simulations.
- Proficiency in C/C++ programming.
- Experience in developing, training, and optimizing ML models for signal processing applications.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of CPU, DSP, or GPU architectures, including memory, I/O, and networking interfaces.
- Experience with real-time, multi-threaded application development on CPUs, GPUs, or DSPs.
- Familiarity with CUDA programming and NVIDIA GPU architectures.
