About the Team
AgentOps is an enterprise capability focused on building, operating, and governing AI agents as production systems across Pearson. The team enables collaboration between employees and AI agents to improve outcomes, strengthen quality, and deliver measurable business value while maintaining governance and compliance standards.
AgentOps works across multiple integrated streams including Agentic Automations, Agentic Applications, and Agentic Engineering. The group develops production-grade agentic solutions that modernize workflows such as document processing, decision tracking, content quality assurance, and executive operations.
About the Role
As an AgentOps Engineering Apprentice, you will collaborate with engineers, product leaders, and AI specialists to design, build, test, and operate enterprise AI agents and agent-based applications. The position is intended for recent graduates who want hands-on exposure to modern software engineering, cloud technologies, and emerging AI systems.
The apprenticeship emphasizes practical learning. Participants contribute to real production initiatives while developing a strong foundation in engineering practices, system reliability, and responsible AI development.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in building and improving agent-based applications and intelligent automations used across Pearson workflows.
- Work with senior engineers to develop reusable AI agents using approved frameworks and the AgentOps orchestration platform.
- Participate in design discussions, intake reviews, and engineering evaluations to understand enterprise AI solution development.
- Support implementation of observability, logging, testing, and evaluation processes to ensure reliability and safe agent behavior.
- Contribute to documentation, testing activities, and ongoing improvements of agent-based systems.
- Follow AI policy, security, privacy, and compliance guidelines while working with production environments.
Required Qualifications
- Final-year engineering student or recent graduate with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of Python and familiarity with agentic frameworks.
- Understanding of data structures, algorithms, and fundamental software engineering concepts.
- Exposure to AI or ML concepts and large language models.
- Interest in AI agents, automation, and cloud-based systems.
Preferred Skills
- Basic knowledge of APIs, microservices, or cloud platforms.
- Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and agile development practices.
- Interest in responsible AI, platform engineering, or system reliability.
