Microsoft is inviting university interns from around the world to work on meaningful projects, explore their interests, and develop their skills. This internship provides an opportunity to contribute ideas and solutions while working with advanced technologies.
As a Data Science Intern, you will apply machine learning, statistics, experimentation, and related techniques to improve products and deliver business impact. The role involves collaborating with stakeholders, solving business and engineering problems using algorithms and data, and combining analytical and engineering capabilities to improve customer experiences.
Interns at Microsoft work on real-world projects with global teams and gain exposure to innovative tools, methods, and technologies used across Microsoft products and services.
Responsibilities
- Develop approaches to solve problems using defined algorithms and available data sources.
- Apply understanding of product functionality and customer needs to provide context for business problems.
- Use data exploration methods to identify new questions and opportunities within assigned problem areas.
- Interpret analytical results, validate methods, and continuously improve approaches through monitoring and iteration.
- Work with stakeholders to create actionable insights that support product and service improvements.
- Participate in peer reviews, incorporate feedback, and learn innovative algorithms, methods, and tools.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Doctorate degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Must have at least one additional quarter or semester remaining after completion of the internship.
Preferred Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Master's degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
