Role Overview
The Data Quality team within the Data Strategy and Management organization, part of the Chief Data Office, leads Mastercard’s core data management initiatives and expands enterprise data quality programs. The team focuses on maintaining and increasing the value of Mastercard’s data assets as new payment methods and data-driven services continue to evolve.
The Enterprise Data Quality team ensures that data across the organization remains reliable and suitable for both operational and analytical use. The group identifies opportunities for improving data quality, develops mitigation strategies, and coordinates remediation with technology teams and business owners.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in building data quality dashboards by collaborating with data sourcing teams, data strategy leaders, and business subject matter experts to gather requirements and deliver meaningful insights.
- Drive automation of data pipelines and ETL workflows across both cloud and on-premise environments to support dashboard updates.
- Conduct data analysis using SQL, cloud platforms, and workflow automation tools, refining outputs and sharing actionable insights with stakeholders.
- Maintain dashboards, reports, and supporting documentation used to track acquisition activities and key performance indicators.
- Work closely with technical teams to execute workflows and monitor the performance of data pipelines.
Qualifications
- Understanding of data dashboards, analytics processes, data ecosystems, and data management practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, or a related discipline. A master’s degree is considered an advantage.
- Hands-on experience with BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar data visualization platforms.
- Proficiency in SQL and exposure to Python, along with experience in data wrangling, matching, and ETL techniques.
- Familiarity with cloud-based data storage and processing technologies is beneficial.
- Ability to manage operational tasks, contribute to process improvements, and coordinate cross-team activities.
- Knowledge of Mastercard products and internal systems is helpful but not mandatory.
