Job Description
At IBM Infrastructure & Technology, the team designs and operates the systems that keep the world running, from high-resiliency mainframes and hybrid cloud platforms to networking, automation, and site reliability. Teams ensure the performance, security, and scalability that clients and industries rely on every day.
As a QA/Test Developer for IBM Z offerings, you will design, develop, debug, and execute tests to make sure world-class quality expectations are met. You will work in a collaborative environment to discover and investigate defects, validate fixes, and continually improve testing methodologies, automation, tooling, and techniques.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Develop and Execute Tests: Design, develop, debug, and execute tests for IBM Z offerings such as z/OS, zTPF, zVM, and zVSE, using agile practices and DevOps tooling.
- Collaborative Defect Investigation: Discover and investigate defects, validate fixes, and give feedback on usability, serviceability, and documentation.
- Enhance Testing Methodologies: Improve testing methodologies, automation, tooling, and techniques to make testing processes more efficient and effective.
- Client Advocacy: Act as a client advocate, giving feedback on usability, serviceability, and documentation so the offering meets client needs.
- Agile Practices: Work with agile practices and DevOps tooling to test complex software offerings.
- Operating System Testing: Develop and execute tests for operating systems such as z/OS, zTPF, zVM, and zVSE. Experience here is advantageous.
- Automation and Tooling: Work with automation and tooling to improve testing processes. Familiarity is an asset.
