Role Overview
This position is based in IBM Consulting Client Innovation Centers, which deliver technical and industry expertise to public and private sector clients globally. These delivery centers provide localized technical capabilities to support innovation and adoption of emerging technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Application Development: Design, build, and maintain applications using the Java/JEE technology stack and related frameworks.
- Enterprise Application Support: Manage Java objects, implement transaction management, and support enterprise application functionality.
- Development Practices: Apply concepts such as dependency injection, inversion of control, aspect oriented programming, functional programming, test driven development, and data access frameworks.
- DevOps Implementation: Use DevOps methodologies and tools to improve development workflows and deployment processes.
- System Integration: Integrate enterprise systems to ensure reliable functionality and effective data exchange.
Preferred Technical Exposure
- Experience with scripting languages such as Ruby or Groovy for web development.
- Familiarity with data access frameworks for enterprise applications.
- Understanding of batch processing concepts used in large scale systems.
