Overview
Job Summary
This position supports financial management activities by analyzing, reporting, and reconciling financial and operational results. The role identifies and investigates variances against plans and provides recommendations to relevant stakeholders. It also contributes to budgeting and forecasting while ensuring compliance with reporting standards and company policies.
The analyst participates in priority projects and collaborates with internal teams to maintain effective communication and reporting processes.
Responsibilities
- Extract data and analyze financial drivers, using analytics to provide insights and recommendations to stakeholders.
- Perform detailed financial analysis for business units or functions to address financial issues and support strategic initiatives.
- Contribute inputs for monthly expense and capital reviews within budgeting and forecasting cycles, and analyze operational variances.
- Interpret financial reports such as forecasts, budgets, income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
- Develop an understanding of organizational financial processes and the company’s operational structure.
- Support business activities by assisting with book closing, evaluating trends and variances, and preparing financial forecasts aligned with business goals.
- Maintain compliance with corporate reporting standards and policies while ensuring accuracy in internal and external reporting.
- Apply foundational financial principles and assist in projects through research and data analysis, providing regular progress updates.
- Assist priority initiatives with guidance from senior team members and maintain communication with internal stakeholders through standardized reporting.
Education and Experience
A four-year degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent work experience demonstrating relevant competence.
Typically requires 0 to 2 years of professional experience, preferably in financial management, accounting, internal audit, or a related area.
Preferred Certifications
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
- Certified Financial Analyst (CFA)
Knowledge and Skills
- Accounting and auditing principles
- Corporate finance and financial planning
- Financial modeling and financial statement analysis
- Variance analysis and performance metrics (KPIs)
- Understanding of internal controls and financial services
- Experience with SAP applications
- Profit and loss management and process improvement
