Key Responsibilities / Duties

  • Monitor infrastructure including servers (Windows, Linux, Solaris), network devices (Cisco and Juniper: switches, routers, firewalls, WLC, WAP, VPN, UPS, etc.), communication links (MPLS-GWAN), storage devices (Dell, Hitachi, HP), and applications.
  • Perform business readiness checks for critical applications and batch jobs, take necessary action on failures, and report appropriately.
  • Use enterprise monitoring solutions to identify triggered alarms across the environment, acknowledge alerts, create incident tickets, and assign to relevant teams.
  • Identify and track all production environment problems, resolve issues when possible, escalate if necessary, and provide support for calls and emails to ensure timely and professional interactions.
  • Proactively contact stakeholders when production services are significantly delayed or impacted.
  • Share performance reports for IT infrastructure devices with respective support teams for analysis.
  • When a problem impacts IT services, triage or troubleshoot the issue following standard operating procedures, coordinating with third-party vendors, customer contacts, or other IT teams as needed.
  • Provide intelligent hands-on support for all areas of the Infrastructure Services Group when requested.
  • Monitor system performance and capacity using various tools, analyze hardware, software, and environmental alerts, determine causes of issues, and collaborate with teams until resolution.
  • Participate in creating and maintaining documentation to ensure clear, concise, and accurate information is available for incident resolution.
  • Provide complete and accurate summaries of all activities during shift turnover to ensure continuity with peers.
  • Basic knowledge of enterprise monitoring tools like SolarWinds Orion / SCOM.
  • Knowledge of ITSM tools like ServiceNow.
  • Knowledge of ITIL processes.

Work Experience / Knowledge

0-1 years in a NOC or L1 Support for Applications or similar technology.

Previous experience in a Financial Services, highly pressured environment essential.

Must possess an up-to-date understanding of all Infrastructure technologies and a good technical knowledge of Wintel Services.

This position is based out of Hyderabad.
