Job Summary

The Storage & Backup Engineer will support enterprise storage and backup infrastructure. The role covers monitoring backup operations, troubleshooting failures, managing storage capacity, and keeping business-critical data available and protected.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage enterprise storage and backup environments.
• Perform daily monitoring of backup jobs and troubleshoot failed or incomplete backups.
• Support backup, restore, recovery, and data-retention activities.
• Monitor storage capacity, utilization, availability, and performance.
• Carry out storage provisioning under defined procedures, such as LUN allocation, expansion, and decommissioning.
• Support SAN/NAS environments and related storage infrastructure.
• Assist with backup scheduling, configuration, and policy management.
• Perform data restoration based on business and operational requirements.
• Troubleshoot storage connectivity, capacity, performance, and backup-related incidents.
• Work on incident, service request, problem, and change tickets within defined SLAs.
• Maintain operational documentation, SOPs, technical records, and infrastructure inventory.
• Coordinate with Server, Database, Network, Cloud, and Application teams to resolve issues.
• Support infrastructure upgrades, migrations, patching, and technology refresh activities.
• Take part in disaster recovery and backup recovery validation activities.
• Follow organizational security, change-management, and ITIL processes.
• Work in rotational shifts or on-call support where required for 24x7 infrastructure operations.
