About NATS Apprenticeship Program

The National Apprenticeship Training Scheme is a program where Volvo India engages freshly graduated individuals for year-long apprenticeships, providing them with practical training and skills development opportunities within the company's various functions under Financial Services. It's a way for Volvo to train future workforce members through a structured apprenticeship program.

Qualifications

BE/BTech in Mechatronics, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Electrical & Computer Science Engineering, or Robotics Engineering.

Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

Purpose of the Job:

• To train young Graduate Engineers and make them industry-ready by involving them in the work of the Manufacturing Engineering Department, such as Process Documentation and Automation Projects.
• GATs gain real-time on-the-job knowledge and the industry gets a few tasks completed through them.

Scope of Work and Accountability:

• Basic knowledge of Arduino, Raspberry Pi, or microcontrollers.
• Understanding of motor control, sensors, and embedded systems.
• Familiarity with Python/C++ (preferred).
• Interest in Robotics with knowledge of ROS (Robot Operating System).
• Knowledge of PLC programming languages such as ladder logic and sequential function charts.
• Making Process Documentation (Process Sheets, SOPs, Work Instructions, One-point lessons, PFMEAs, etc.) under the guidance of ME Engineers.
• Work with cross-functional teams.
• Follow up with internal and external suppliers to meet commitments.
• Follow all safety norms of the organization.
• Be disciplined towards learning and committed to the outputs of the department.

Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies required:

• Thorough understanding of basic engineering fundamentals.
• Working knowledge of MS Office (particularly Excel and PowerPoint).
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and PLC.
• Basic knowledge of IoT projects.
• Creative, innovative, hardworking, and good at communication.
• Knowledge of IoT, automation, or Industry 4.0 technologies.

Relevant Qualification & Experience

• Full-time first class (>65%) bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Electrical & Computer Science Engineering, or Robotics Engineering.
• Experience with MS Excel and MS PowerPoint.
• Hands-on experience with PLC software (Siemens) or Arduino/Raspberry Pi projects.
• Hands-on experience with embedded C/C++.
