Software Application Development Apprenticeship
This 12 month apprenticeship program is designed for individuals who have graduated and want to build entry-level technical and professional skills in software development. Apprentices are expected to work full-time in person at their assigned office while participating in structured learning and hands-on projects.
The program combines external training with practical experience on Google teams. Apprentices spend part of their time in a tailored learning program and the remainder contributing to live projects across coding, development, testing, and project work.
Application Information
- The apprenticeship is a fixed-term program and not a permanent full-time role.
- Recent graduates and candidates with experience from other industries may apply.
- Applicants must submit a resume clearly mentioning their graduation year.
- Transfers between locations are not permitted after onboarding.
- The recruitment process may take 18 to 24 weeks.
- This role is not eligible for immigration sponsorship.
Government Mandates and Guidelines
- Candidates must have an Aadhaar-linked mobile number, active personal email ID, and Aadhaar-seeded bank account.
- A maximum of two apprenticeship trainings is allowed, and the second cannot be in the same trade.
- Eligibility for additional apprenticeship programs will follow applicable government guidelines.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
- Not currently enrolled in an academic program.
- Less than 1 year of experience in software application development.
- Programming experience in at least one coding language.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Google Workspace or similar productivity tools.
- Ability to learn programming languages based on project requirements.
- Interest in software development and new technologies through projects or continued learning.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively while managing multiple tasks.
About the Role
As a Software Application Development Apprentice, you will gain practical exposure to software development practices and workflows. The apprenticeship includes learning programming concepts, software testing, implementation approaches, and industry best practices while working alongside Google teams.
You will also develop problem-solving skills through real-world applications and gain experience across different technical functions within the company.
Responsibilities
- Learn and follow coding standards while maintaining quality requirements.
- Support software development activities across assigned projects and platforms.
- Contribute to implementation, unit testing, and integration tasks.
- Apply apprenticeship learning to real-world software applications.
- Ensure code is tested according to team or manager guidelines.
