About the Role
Join FOX Tech as an iOS Playback Engineering Intern and dive into the world of video playback and streaming software development. This internship is designed to give you hands-on experience working with advanced media delivery systems. You'll learn how video players are built and optimized, gain exposure to adaptive bitrate streaming, and contribute to delivering smooth playback for millions of FOX viewers.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain high-performance Swift code for FOX’s iOS Player SDK
• Assist in the design, implementation, and testing of new features for video playback
• Contribute to internal development tools and user-facing functionalities
• Collaborate closely with experienced engineers and technical mentors
• Research and explore new video streaming technologies and protocols
• Participate in code reviews, debugging sessions, and team stand-ups

Who You Are

• Technically curious and passionate about mobile video technologies
• Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on precision and performance
• Eager to learn from and contribute to a collaborative engineering environment
• Clear and effective communicator, both written and verbal
• Capable of understanding complex systems and breaking down tasks efficiently

Required Skills

• Proficiency in Swift programming language
• Solid understanding of operating system fundamentals
• Familiarity with data structures, algorithms, and software development principles
• Ability to work independently and as part of a fast-paced team
• Strong interest in video playback and mobile application development

Preferred Skills (Good to Have)

• Experience with personal iOS projects or contributions on GitHub
• Exposure to video streaming protocols such as HLS, DASH, and AVPlayer
• Familiarity with debugging tools and performance optimization techniques
