Job Summary

Flex is a diversified manufacturing partner that helps market-leading brands design, build and deliver innovative products. The Analyst - Procurement role is based in Chennai and supports the teams that build products and drive the company's growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain relationships with suppliers and place orders for raw materials and purchased parts based on production requirements.
• Receive and handle order confirmations, and check and modify purchase orders as production plans change, using the Shortage List and Open Purchase Order List.
• Track shipments and follow up when needed.
• Check stock weekly to avoid overstock, and reduce obsolescence risk using the weekly obsolete report.
• Correspond with freight forwarders and warehouses, and organize transportation when required.
• Handle claims, settle debit and credit issues, and file and record all necessary documents.
• Check inventory of critical materials (in person if needed) and resolve discrepancies with warehouse personnel.
• Protect purchasing data privacy and make sure active components are supplied on time for production needs at the agreed price.
• Review requisitions and MRP output, and order, reschedule or cancel material accordingly.
• Confer with vendors on price, availability and delivery schedules, and manage supplier performance against price, delivery and quality expectations.
• Maintain procurement records, reports and metrics, including items purchased, costs, deliveries and inventories.
• Approve invoices for payment, monitor material movement through the production cycle, and investigate inventory levels.
• Conduct quarterly supplier reviews.

Skills and Abilities

The role typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Working knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint, English language skills, data entry, spreadsheets and ERP software may be needed. Candidates should be able to read and write simple correspondence, present information to customers and colleagues, and perform basic calculations and common-sense problem solving.
