Job Summary

To support the teams who build great products and drive our growth, Flex is looking to add an Analyst for Procurement based in Chennai.

What a typical day looks like

• Maintain relationships with suppliers.
• Place orders for raw materials and purchased parts based on production requirements.
• Receive and handle order confirmations.
• Check purchase orders and modify them for changes in the production plan, using the Shortage List and the Open Purchase Order List.
• Track shipments and follow up when needed.
• Run regular weekly stock checks to avoid overstock.
• Reduce the risk of obsolescence using the weekly obsolete report.
• Correspond with freight forwarders and warehouses, and arrange transportation when required.
• Handle claims and settle debit and credit issues.
• File and record all necessary documents.
• Check inventory of critical materials (in person if needed) against the Shortage List.
• Work with warehouse personnel to correct any inventory discrepancies.
• Handle purchasing data privacy.
• Ensure all active components are available in time for production needs, at the price agreed in the request.
• Review requisitions and MRP output.
• Confer with vendors to obtain price, availability and delivery schedule information.
• Order, reschedule and cancel material based on requisitions and MRP output.
• Maintain procurement records such as items purchased, costs, deliveries and inventories.
• Manage suppliers to price, delivery and quality expectations, and escalate when appropriate.
• Approve invoices for payment.
• Investigate inventory levels.
• Monitor the movement of materials through the production cycle.
• Conduct quarterly supplier reviews.
• Maintain procurement records, reports and metrics.
