Job Summary

Flex is looking to add an Analyst for Procurement to its team in Chennai. The role supports the teams that build great products and contribute to the company's growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain relationships with suppliers.
• Place orders for raw materials and purchased parts based on production requirements, and handle order confirmations.
• Check purchase orders and modify them according to production plan changes, using the Shortage List and Open Purchase Order List.
• Track shipments and follow up when needed.
• Check stock weekly to avoid overstock, and review the obsolete report to reduce obsolescence risk.
• Correspond with freight forwarders and warehouses, and arrange transportation when required.
• Handle claims and settle debit and credit issues.
• File and record all necessary documents, and handle purchasing data privacy.
• Check inventory of critical materials (in person if needed) against the Shortage List, and work with warehouse staff to correct any discrepancies.
• Ensure active components are available in time for production needs at the price stated in the request.
• Review requisitions and MRP output, and order, reschedule or cancel material accordingly.
• Confer with vendors on price, availability and delivery schedules.
• Maintain procurement records such as items purchased, costs, deliveries and inventories.
• Manage supplier performance against price, delivery and quality expectations, and escalate when appropriate.
• Approve invoices for payment, investigate inventory levels, and monitor material movement through the production cycle.
• Conduct quarterly supplier reviews and maintain procurement records, reports and metrics.

Skills and Abilities

• Working knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint, ERP software, and basic spreadsheet and data entry skills.
• Ability to read and understand instructions, correspondence and memos, and to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to present information clearly in one-on-one and small group settings.
• Ability to calculate figures such as discounts, interest, commissions and percentages, and to apply basic algebra and geometry.
• Ability to apply practical reasoning to instructions in written, oral or diagram form, and to handle problems with several concrete variables.
