Overview
Associate Engineer - Mechanical Design
As an Associate Engineer, you will work with product or technology groups on design, development, testing, and sustaining engineering activities. The role involves studying and improving existing designs, building product knowledge, and supporting system enhancements and sustenance activities.
You will plan and execute assigned activities to meet project timelines and deliverables while contributing to projects at the Eaton India Innovation Centre within the Aerospace program.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle engineering assignments related to products, technologies, testing, and project specifications.
- Apply DFSS concepts, DFMEA, Risk Management, and DVPR for new product development and enhancement of existing products.
- Support prototype builds, durability and performance testing, and teardown analysis to evaluate products against customer requirements before launch.
- Create and maintain design standards, procedures, documentation, and data control processes for the business group.
- Develop understanding of manufacturing processes to improve both new and current product designs.
- Coordinate with customers on technical clarifications, testing support, and resolution of field issues.
- Learn and adapt to varied technologies and product domains.
Required Skills
- Understanding of mechanical design principles.
- Hands-on experience with 2D and 3D CAD tools such as Creo and/or SolidWorks.
- Knowledge of GD&T, drawings, specifications, and technical requirements.
- Ability to support new product design and product modification activities.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
