About the Role
Shell is seeking a Data Science Analyst to join its Commercial Data Science (CDS) team within the Digital Process Twin (DPT) portfolio. This role involves applying data science techniques to process event data, enabling analytical modeling, process insights, and data-driven decision-making. You will collaborate with experienced professionals to prepare, analyze, and visualize data, identifying opportunities to enhance business process efficiency and performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, cleanse, and transform process event data for analysis and modeling.
- Conduct exploratory data analysis (EDA) to detect trends, patterns, and anomalies.
- Create data visualizations, dashboards, and reports using tools like Power BI, Tableau, or Plotly Dash.
- Collaborate with data scientists to design and test features and metrics for predictive models.
- Develop and maintain process data models and pipelines ensuring quality and consistency.
- Integrate data from enterprise systems such as SAP, Salesforce, and ServiceNow.
- Support process mining initiatives using platforms like Celonis EMS or SAP Signavio.
- Assist in documentation, testing, and quality assurance of analytical deliverables.
- Gain foundational knowledge of Responsible AI and Explainable AI (XAI) concepts.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 0–2 years of experience in data analytics or data science.
- Proficiency in Python and SQL, with experience in libraries like pandas and NumPy.
- Basic understanding of machine learning or statistical methods.
- Experience with visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Plotly Dash, Matplotlib, or Seaborn.
- Familiarity with process event data and event logs is desirable.
- Exposure to process-mining platforms like Celonis EMS, SAP Signavio, or PM4Py is an advantage.
- Knowledge of data quality, ETL concepts, and pipeline design preferred.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related quantitative fields.
