About the Role
Siemens Healthineers India LLP is seeking a motivated Data Engineer Intern to join our team in Bangalore. This position offers an opportunity to work on innovative data engineering projects, leveraging modern cloud and big data technologies to deliver impactful business insights.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop prototypes and proof-of-concepts using multiple data sources, AI/ML methods, and big data technologies.
- Implement and deploy large structured and unstructured databases on scalable cloud infrastructures.
- Transfer and optimize data across various database systems to enhance performance and scalability.
- Collaborate with data architects to develop technical solutions that integrate diverse data sources for meaningful business insights.
- Stay updated with emerging technologies and promote their adoption in solving business challenges.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science & Engineering, Data Science, or related field.
- 0–2 years of hands-on experience in database technologies, data engineering, or data analytics.
- Experience in at least two data-related projects.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in conventional DB technologies (RDBMS, object-oriented databases).
- Strong SQL skills and experience with relational database design.
- Familiarity with large dataset processing (multi-terabyte scale) using tools like T-SQL, Microsoft SQL, or Oracle.
- Knowledge of data warehousing solutions (e.g., Teradata, Snowflake) and concepts (Data Modelling, STAR Schema, Snowflake Schema).
- Basic ETL knowledge using tools like SAS DI Studio or Informatica.
- Familiarity with BI/reporting tools (Qlik, Tableau, Power BI, SAS VA).
- Basic knowledge of Azure cloud services (Azure Blob, Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory).
- Programming skills in Python or R.
- Understanding of NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra, HBase).
- Awareness of cloud technologies in Microsoft Azure and Amazon AWS environments.
