About Fam
Fam, formerly known as FamPay, is India's first payments app designed for everyone above the age of 11. The FamApp enables seamless online and offline payments through UPI and FamCard. Our mission is to nurture a financially aware generation by empowering over 250 million young users in India to start their financial journey early.

Role Overview
As a Data Engineer Intern at Fam, you will work on designing and implementing robust data pipelines and ETL processes, ensuring data quality and integrity. You will contribute to building core components of our Data Platform from scratch, including Data Lakehouse, Serving & Query infrastructure, and Event Streaming Platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop efficient data pipelines and ETL processes.
- Ensure high standards of data quality and integrity.
- Build and maintain data infrastructure components such as Data Lakehouse and Event Streaming Platform.
- Monitor and optimize performance and reliability of data systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
Must-Have Qualifications
- B.Tech in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
- Previous internship experience in a product-based company or startup.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
Good-to-Have Skills
- Proficiency in Python or GoLang.
- Strong knowledge of SQL and data modeling fundamentals.
- Experience with analytical databases, data warehousing, and data integration.
- Familiarity with ETL concepts and structured data formats (CSV, JSON, Avro, Parquet).
- Working knowledge of AWS.
- Contributions to open-source projects or participation in GSoC.
