Overview
The Securities & Derivatives Analyst 2 is an intermediate-level role responsible for processing orders and transactions originating from trading desks and branch offices. The position works closely with the Operations - Transaction Services team to support transaction processing activities.
The main objective of this role is to support the clearance, settlement, and investigation of client securities and derivatives transactions.
Responsibilities
- Process securities transactions, provide analytical input for traders, and assist in reviewing derivative products.
- Identify and resolve settlement issues related to securities and derivatives, and suggest process improvements to leadership.
- Analyze moderately complex reports to meet management requirements and support control activities and product service launches.
- Monitor errors and recommend solutions to reduce operational risk by applying knowledge of procedural requirements.
- Escalate transaction processing issues to the appropriate teams and collaborate to resolve them.
- Design and review moderately complex reports in alignment with standards set by direct leadership.
- Support control activities and assist with the rollout of new products and services.
- Ensure operational processes follow audit standards and internal control policies.
- Assess risk appropriately when making business decisions, safeguarding the organization, its clients, and assets while maintaining compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.
Qualifications
- 0-2 years of relevant work experience.
- Basic understanding of treasury products, accounting concepts, and regulatory policies.
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent activities or projects in a high-risk environment.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced operational setting.
- Working knowledge of macros.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
