Role Overview

The Securities & Derivatives Analyst 1 is an entry level role responsible for handling orders and transactions received from trading desks and branch offices in coordination with the Operations Transaction Services team. The objective of the position is to support the clearing, settlement, and investigation of client securities and derivatives transactions.

Responsibilities

  • Provide analytical and administrative assistance to the Front Office Sales and Trading teams, particularly related to FX business.
  • Support trade lifecycle activities including trade aggregation, allocation, cancel rebooks, matching, early pickup or utilization, and rollovers.
  • Work with business teams, clients, operations, and technology groups to address post execution issues.
  • Perform control activities using intermediary processing systems and internal records.
  • Complete daily operational tasks accurately and within required timelines.
  • Ensure the desk remains compliant with internal policies and external regulatory requirements.
  • Handle requests, inquiries, issues, and operational errors by resolving or escalating them appropriately while identifying any policy gaps.
  • Participate in cross training initiatives across teams and assist the Team Lead with assigned duties.
  • Assess risk when making business decisions, protect the firm's reputation and assets, and ensure adherence to applicable laws, rules, and internal policies.

Qualifications and Skills

  • 1 to 2 years of relevant experience preferred, fresh graduates may also apply.
  • Basic understanding of FX products, trade lifecycle management, and operational risk associated with trading activities.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks or projects in a high risk environment.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent university qualification is preferred.
