Job Description
As a Software Development, Test, and Automation Engineer in the Cisco Wireless group, you will design, develop, and deliver innovative and secure wireless products and solutions. You will participate in the full software development lifecycle for large-scale systems and contribute to automation, testing, networking, and tooling. Your work will focus on ensuring the quality and reliability of network operating systems for routers, switches, wireless controllers, and access points.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the software development lifecycle, focusing on automation, testing, and quality assurance.
  • Develop and execute tests for wireless solutions on various networking devices.
  • Collaborate with engineers to design and implement software solutions.
  • Learn and understand customer deployment scenarios to create effective solutions.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize software systems.
  • Work in an agile and collaborative environment with cross-functional teams.

Required Skills:

  • Proficiency in programming languages like C, C++, Python
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP and related protocols
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to learn and apply new technologies and tools effectively
  • Capacity to multitask and adapt to changing contexts

Bonus Skills:

  • Knowledge of wireless networking technologies (e.g., 802.11)
  • Proficiency in additional programming languages
  • Understanding of data structures and algorithms
  • Experience in coding, testing, and debugging
  • Familiarity with software quality assurance and test automation
