Role Definition

This role is responsible for scheduling, planning, and overseeing material procurement, production, and delivery.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the flow of materials within the manufacturing facility, including transfers of materials (premium freight) to and from inventory or the warehouse.
• Develop and execute material planning for a product line, making sure all material requirements for assigned programs are met within the allocated time frame.
• Schedule and control the release of materials, and monitor material inventory in the plant, in the warehouse, and at critical suppliers.
• Build and follow up on procurement plan realization to keep it aligned with business objectives.
• Track and analyze supplier performance metrics, and collaborate with and negotiate with suppliers to deliver materials as required.

• Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Understand the importance of accuracy and complete tasks with a high level of precision.
• Analytical Thinking: Know the tools and techniques that support effective analysis, and determine the root cause of organizational problems.
• Distribution Requirements Planning (DRP): Understand how inventory is systematically managed across multiple plants or warehouses.
• Forecasting: Understand forecasting tools and practices, and estimate product demand and production requirements.
• Inventory Management: Understand inventory processes for raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods.
• Manufacturing Requirements Planning (MRP): Understand the processes and systems used in MRP to optimize manufacturing cycles and ensure capacity and materials availability.
• Problem Solving: Apply a disciplined approach to recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational, or process problems.
• Supplier Management: Understand how to manage business relationships and transactions with suppliers of raw materials or components.
