Procurement Quality Engineer

Role Definition: This role supports the resolution of quality issues and processes for the supply function in the manufacturing facility.

Responsibilities

• Provides conclusions and recommendations for quality issues and/or continuous quality improvement projects.
• Participates in supplier quality improvement initiatives and works with suppliers to raise quality levels.
• Ensures the reliability and quality of suppliers through process controls, certification programs, evaluations, inspections, corrective actions, audits and records.
• Identifies quality problems and determines a short-term action plan with facility management and the supplier.

Quality Management: Knowledge of quality management methods, tools and techniques, and the ability to support an environment that meets organizational quality goals. At a basic level, this includes explaining the purpose and limits of quality management and citing examples of quality initiatives.

Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Understanding the need for accuracy and the ability to complete tasks with high precision. At a basic level, this includes identifying tasks that require accuracy and describing the consequences of errors.

Collaborating: Knowledge of collaborative techniques and the ability to work constructively with a variety of individuals and groups. At a working knowledge level, this includes participating in collaborative processes and helping solve business problems through them.

Effective Communications: Understanding of communication concepts, tools and techniques, and the ability to transmit, receive and interpret ideas and information accurately. At a working knowledge level, this includes giving helpful feedback, making oral presentations and writing reports for your own work.

Managing Multiple Priorities: Knowledge of self-management practices and the ability to handle several concurrent objectives, projects or activities. At a working knowledge level, this includes responding to day-to-day priorities while still progressing on project work, and performing at least 2-3 concurrent activities without reducing productivity.

Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches and tools for recognizing and resolving operational or process problems. At a working knowledge level, this includes documenting problems and alternatives and using fact-finding and diagnostic tools.

Procurement Function: Knowledge of the responsibilities and organization of the procurement function. At a basic level, this includes identifying the major tasks of a procurement unit and the tools procurement professionals use.

Purchasing Tasks and Activities: Knowledge of purchasing policies, regulations and processes, and the ability to apply procedures for buying materials, components, equipment and services. At a basic level, this includes describing established procurement processes and standards.

This position requires working onsite five days a week. Relocation is available for this position.
