About the Role

Amazon’s Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) team is looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Business Analyst to join our Data and Strategic UX vertical. This team focuses on delivering technical guidance and thought leadership for WHS programs from conception to execution. The role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a fast-growing area within Amazon, enhancing safety experiences that meet employee needs and empower leaders with actionable insights.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver analytics solutions to address business challenges.
  • Extract and transform data using spreadsheets, SQL, and other analytical tools.
  • Apply descriptive analysis techniques to identify performance drivers and impacts.
  • Generate insights to inform decision-making, highlight anomalies, and uncover opportunities.
  • Document analytical processes, including metric definitions, logic, assumptions, and data sources.
  • Collaborate with technology teams to enhance portals, dashboards, and online tools, ensuring logic validation.
  • Communicate findings effectively through written reports and presentations.
  • Adopt and promote analytical best practices to improve efficiency.
  • Support onboarding and training of new team members.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Data Engineering, Economics, Finance, Engineering, Mathematics, Machine Learning, Science, Statistics, or related fields.
  • Proven experience in defining requirements and using data-driven insights for business decisions.
  • Proficiency in SQL or ETL processes.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Tableau for data visualization.
  • Hands-on experience working with large datasets.
