Job Description
Purpose of the Role
The role supports the Transaction Monitoring function by reviewing and investigating activities to detect suspicious behavior. When necessary, findings are reported to the relevant regulatory authorities.
Accountabilities
- Assist with daily transaction monitoring activities including reviewing alerts, conducting investigations, and reporting findings using AML expertise.
- Execute monitoring checks across customers, transactions, and related activities to identify potential risks and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Manage alerts and issues generated through monitoring tests, investigate each case, and work toward resolution.
- Collaborate with different teams across the bank to align and integrate transaction monitoring processes.
- Identify opportunities to improve monitoring processes and provide recommendations for operational changes.
- Support the development and implementation of procedures and controls designed to reduce risk and maintain operational efficiency.
- Track industry trends and regulatory developments to help apply best practices within Transaction Monitoring services.
- Participate in projects or initiatives that aim to improve monitoring efficiency and effectiveness.

- Develop strong technical understanding of the assigned work area and its underlying concepts.

- Take responsibility for the outcomes of operational processing and team activities.
- Escalate any breaches of policies or procedures when identified.
- Assist in embedding new policies or procedures introduced for risk mitigation.
- Contribute insights that influence decisions within the functional area.
- Take ownership of risk management and strengthening of controls within assigned responsibilities while adhering to regulatory rules and codes of conduct.
- Maintain understanding of how the sub-function integrates with the wider organization, including products, services, and processes.
- Make evaluative judgments based on factual analysis and careful attention to detail.
- Resolve issues by applying acquired experience and following established precedents.
- Communicate complex or sensitive information effectively and guide team members when necessary.
- Act as a point of contact for stakeholders outside the immediate team and build professional networks internally and externally.

In this role, you will conduct detailed due diligence, support regulatory compliance efforts, and help safeguard both clients and the organization through effective monitoring and risk control practices.
Key Skills and Activities
- Perform transaction monitoring to detect suspicious activity and ensure compliance with AML regulations.
- Apply knowledge of KYC, CDD, EDD, sanctions screening, negative media checks, and PEP verification to assess customer risk.
- Support Suspicious Activity Report investigations and reporting while maintaining compliance standards.
- Assist with daily monitoring tasks including reviewing alerts, investigations, and reporting outcomes.
- Conduct monitoring checks on customer accounts and transactions to identify potential regulatory or financial risks.
Desirable Skill Sets
- Experience or exposure to AML and transaction monitoring processes is preferred.
- Ability to work with customer support teams to address transaction-related queries.
- Flexibility to work across different shifts.
- Experience working with different risk types including individual and business client profiles.
- Strong written and spoken English proficiency.
