Atlan Hiring Backend Engineering Intern | Fresher | 50k/month

As a Backend Engineering Intern, you will:

• Work on impactful projects in backend development, platform infrastructure, and AI-native systems.
• Collaborate with a global engineering team and gain exposure to real-world technical challenges.
• Contribute to projects that directly affect Atlan’s platform, customers, and data ecosystem.

Roles and Responsibilities

Interns may be assigned to one or more focus areas:

1. App Framework Development
   • Build scalable apps on Atlan’s platform.
   • Enable customers to extend and customize Atlan solutions.
2. Connector Development
   • Develop connectors that integrate with modern data systems.
   • Enhance performance and ensure seamless data flow.
3. Metastore
   • Manage metadata ingestion and core services.
   • Support data discovery, governance, and collaboration.
4. Metadata Lakehouse
   • Work on next-generation metadata systems using Apache Iceberg.
   • Scale data storage and retrieval for AI and analytics use cases.
5. Platform & Infrastructure
   • Ensure platform reliability, scalability, and resilience.
   • Handle service isolation, automated maintenance, backups, and observability.

Eligibility Criteria

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering in India.
• Major or specialization in Computer Science or related fields.
• Commitment to one-week in-person onboarding and 6 months full-time remote work.
• Demonstrated passion for technology, problem-solving, and backend development.
• Prior experience through projects, internships, or open-source contributions is a plus.

Technical & Professional Skills

Technical Skills (preferred, not mandatory):

• Programming in Java, Python, or Go
• Experience with Kubernetes, Helm, Argo, Temporal
• Knowledge of Apache Iceberg, data pipelines, and data lake/warehouse systems

Internship Details

• Duration: 6 months (full-time, paid)
• Work Mode: Fully remote after onboarding
• Onboarding Week: In-person, Delhi or Bangalore (expenses covered by Atlan)
• Start Date: On or before January 5, 2026
• Stipend: Paid internship (exact amount shared at offer stage)
• Future Opportunities: Potential transition to full-time role
