Job Overview
Shell is seeking an Associate Engineer - Process Data SSW to join its Projects and Technology business unit in Chennai. This role involves managing geo-information within Sub-Surface and Wells (SSW), supporting improvement projects, and ensuring compliance with Group Data Quality Standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Research and implement innovative solutions for geo-information management within SSW.
- Support and steer improvement projects as required.
- Maintain geodetic integrity of geospatial data and manage services according to SLAs.
- Collaborate with team members to deliver cohesive results.
- Ensure data maintenance and assurance processes meet compliance standards.
- Participate in geomatics networks and share achievements and challenges.
- Identify process simplification opportunities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Geomatics, Geo-Informatics, or Remote Sensing.
- Fresh graduates or professionals with at least one year of relevant experience are encouraged to apply.
- Knowledge of geodesy, coordinate reference systems, and transformations.
- Understanding of spatial data acquisition, modelling, and image processing techniques.
- Proficiency in GIS software (preferably ESRI Suite) and RDBMS (Oracle, SQL Server).
- Awareness of subsurface data types including wells and seismic data.
