Position Overview
The Associate Data Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting analytical data infrastructure that enables ad-hoc access to large datasets and computational resources. This role involves close collaboration with various technology teams to develop and maintain robust data solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain analytical data infrastructure for large-scale datasets.
- Develop and manage ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data from diverse sources using SQL and AWS big data technologies.
- Build and support real-time data pipelines using AWS services such as Glue, Redshift/Spectrum, Kinesis, EMR, and Athena.
- Research and integrate the latest big data and visualization technologies to enhance capabilities and efficiency.
- Collaborate with team members to implement real-time models for monitoring and risk system alerts.
- Work with cross-functional teams to develop advanced analytics algorithms for statistical analysis, prediction, clustering, and machine learning.
- Improve reporting and analysis processes through automation and customer self-service tools.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field.
- Strong knowledge of data modelling, ETL development, and data warehousing.
- Experience with Spark and AWS big data technologies (Redshift, S3, EMR).
- Proficiency in processing and extracting value from large datasets.
- Passion for data-driven decision-making and continuous learning.
- Understanding of data management fundamentals and storage principles.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Familiarity with agile methodologies, coding standards, code reviews, source management, build processes, testing, and operations.
