Overview
The Applications Development Programmer Analyst is an intermediate level role responsible for contributing to the development and enhancement of application systems in coordination with the Technology team. The position focuses on supporting application systems analysis and programming activities while helping implement new or updated solutions.
Responsibilities
- Apply knowledge of application development procedures and related technical areas to identify and define required system enhancements.
- Investigate and analyze technical issues, recommend improvements, and implement appropriate solutions.
- Use understanding of business processes, system workflows, and industry practices to address complex problems.
- Evaluate information and provide recommendations that support system improvements and operational efficiency.
- Perform testing and debugging activities, use scripting tools, and write basic code aligned with design specifications.
- Assess similar past experiences and evaluate possible solutions when procedures do not directly address a situation.
- Build working knowledge of Citi’s information systems, standards, client server application development, network operations, database administration, systems administration, and data center operations.
- Evaluate risk when making business decisions, maintain compliance with applicable laws and policies, and follow ethical standards while protecting Citi, its clients, and its assets.
Qualifications
- 0-2 years of relevant experience.
- Experience with programming or debugging for business applications.
- Working knowledge of industry practices and development standards.
- Understanding of a specific business area supporting application development.
- Familiarity with programming languages.
- Ability to communicate clearly in both written and verbal formats.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent qualification.
