Job Description

The CFR Control Management team identifies, assesses, mitigates, and reports on Operational Risk within BU processes for CFR. The aim is to keep to regulatory standards and Amex policy while strengthening the BU's resilience through a clear method for inherent and residual risk.

Control management is meant to be built into daily operations. The role involves close work with many partners across business units, functional areas, and geographies.

Key Responsibilities

As Analyst, Credit & Fraud Risk, Control Management Control Framework, you will:

• Support implementation and ongoing improvement of the Credit & Fraud Risk control framework
• Help identify operational risks across business processes, systems, products, and change initiatives
• Work with business process owners to assess inherent and residual risk and align processes with Amex policy and regulatory expectations
• Support documentation and upkeep of key controls, control objectives, ownership, and monitoring expectations
• Review process and control inventories for accuracy, completeness, and framework alignment
• Find control gaps and opportunities to improve control design, coverage, and process resilience
• Build analytical insights from operational risk, control, and governance data to spot trends, emerging risks, control gaps, and areas needing leadership attention
• Maintain risk dashboards, KRIs, reporting materials, and governance updates for leadership oversight
• Coordinate with Control Management, Risk, Compliance, Internal Audit, and business partners to support framework execution
• Share insights, themes, and better practices across the enterprise
• Help build a strong culture of operational risk awareness and accountability
