About the Internship
Amazon is seeking passionate and driven System Development Engineer Interns to join its engineering teams. This internship offers a unique opportunity to work on large-scale, mission-critical software applications and tools that impact millions of customers globally. You will work alongside some of the brightest minds in the industry and gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced, agile development environment.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and support distributed, multi-tiered software applications and tools
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, scalable systems
- Participate in architecture design, code reviews, and debugging sessions
- Analyze and improve the performance, scalability, and reliability of existing systems
- Identify technical problems and develop effective solutions
- Adhere to software engineering best practices and agile development processes
Eligibility Criteria
- Students currently enrolled in or recently graduated (within the last 12 months) from a Bachelor's or Master's program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field
- Must be available for a full-time internship with no conflicting academic or employment commitments during the internship period
- A declaration of availability for the entire internship duration must be submitted, signed by a competent university authority
Education Requirement
- Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline
Required Technical Skills
Java, C, C++, Python, Perl, Object-Oriented Programming, Data Structures, Algorithms, Operating Systems, Distributed Systems, Relational Databases, Scripting, Complexity Analysis, Problem Solving, Optimization Techniques
Basic Qualifications
- Understanding of programming or scripting languages such as Java, Python, C, or C++
- Strong foundation in computer science fundamentals including data structures, algorithms, operating systems, and object-oriented design
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Effective written and verbal communication
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with distributed systems, relational databases, and scalable architectures
- Exposure to optimization methods like linear and nonlinear programming
- Ability to handle abstract or ambiguous problems and think innovatively
- Strong articulation of technical challenges and proposed solutions
- Adaptability to fast-paced, agile environments
