Job Description

Airbus is seeking a Business Analyst to support the development, rollout, and adoption of a cross-departmental Value Stream Mapping (VSM) tool currently being built. The role involves working closely with the Tool Business Owner and key stakeholders to convert complex operational processes into clear technical requirements.

This position focuses on connecting business teams and development teams. The analyst ensures the tool accurately represents operational processes by defining specifications, validating outputs, and supporting user adoption.

Main Responsibilities

Business Analysis and Needs Structuring

• Analyze business logic, identify KPIs, and generate reports so the tool captures relevant operational data and flow metrics.
• Build a clear understanding of current process challenges, lead times, and expected outcomes across departments.
• Gather and refine business needs, converting them into structured requirements and user stories in collaboration with the Business Owner and Product Owner.

Project Planning and Roadmap Support

• Support project strategy and roadmap preparation while ensuring stakeholders remain aligned with the overall concept of operations.
• Translate VSM requirements into functional specifications that development teams can execute.
• Assist in backlog prioritization based on business impact, waste reduction, and technical feasibility.

Lean Engineering and Development Coordination

• Apply Value Stream Mapping and lean engineering principles to ensure the tool properly represents process flows and highlights bottlenecks for continuous improvement.
• Work closely with developers to clarify requirements and support correct implementation of lean logic.
• Conduct User Acceptance Testing and functional validation to confirm that features meet business objectives and operate reliably.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Serve as a link between business stakeholders and technical teams.
• Organize workshops, alignment meetings, and requirement reviews to document end-to-end value stream processes.
• Evaluate new requests against current system capabilities and the broader tool strategy.

Documentation and User Enablement

• Create end-user guides and conduct training sessions covering both tool functionality and VSM methodologies.
• Assist with user onboarding, gather feedback after deployment, and monitor adoption metrics.
• Document business rules, workflows, and data models for long-term reference.

Systems, Architecture and Tools Knowledge

• Use knowledge of Airbus toolsets such as CoreAll schema and data tables, along with SQL queries, to support dashboards and sensors.
• Understand MongoDB document structures and Node.js or Express backend logic at a conceptual level. Familiarity with modern stacks such as MERN is beneficial for communicating issues with developers.
• Read and interpret technical documentation and architecture diagrams using tools such as PlantUML, Mermaid, Archi, or Enterprise Architect.

Profile and Skills

• Strong analytical capability for evaluating complex processes and identifying measurable KPIs.
• Understanding of Lean Engineering principles and Value Stream Mapping concepts.
• Experience with business analysis, requirements engineering, or agile project delivery.
• Ability to connect process improvement requirements with technical implementation.
• Detail-oriented approach to organizing and documenting requirements.
