Job Description
Airbus offers an apprenticeship opportunity within the Structures department. This program provides graduates the chance to begin their careers within a globally recognized organization known for innovation, research, and diverse expertise.
The apprenticeship is designed as a 12‑month program expected to begin in July 2026, with some flexibility on the start date. Participants will work alongside experienced professionals and receive mentorship to help define career goals and build technical capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Mechanical design activities including 1D, 2D, or 3D tolerance studies, preparation of tolerance reports, and drawing sets.
- Understand and execute tolerance calculations using various statistical approaches.
- Support digitalization initiatives involving materials data and explore AI or machine learning applications in material science.
- Analyze interactions between heat, airflow, and advanced aircraft structural materials using computational fluid dynamics and thermodynamics concepts.
- Perform CAD modeling and participate in engineering data management processes.
- Develop scripts or software tools to support engineering activities and automation of repetitive tasks.
- Contribute to aircraft structural analysis and investigations.
- Support qualification and development of electrical standard components.
Learning Outcomes
During the program, apprentices will gain exposure to multiple engineering domains and develop practical skills in aircraft structural design and analysis.
- Mechanical design and GD&T practices
- Aircraft materials including metals and composite structures
- Concepts of heat transfer and thermodynamics
- Electrical component qualification and development
- Technical documentation and engineering reporting
- Static and fatigue analysis of aircraft structures
- Structural integrity assessment and mitigation
- Root cause analysis for in‑service findings
- Understanding of airworthiness requirements and documentation
Throughout the apprenticeship, a dedicated tutor will guide participants in strengthening their technical knowledge and professional capabilities while working on real engineering tasks.
