About the Role

Siemens Energy is looking for an AI/Machine Learning Engineer to help build machine learning solutions that support real business outcomes. The role involves working with cross-functional teams including data scientists, software engineers, and product managers to design, develop, and maintain reliable ML models and workflows.

You will help convert raw data into meaningful insights, improve algorithm performance, and integrate AI capabilities into applications that deliver enhanced functionality and user experience.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Assist in developing and maintaining machine learning and basic Generative AI pipelines including data preprocessing, training, evaluation, and inference.
  • Support the development of simple RAG-based and NLP workflows under guidance.
  • Work on text processing activities such as data cleaning, parsing, chunking, and creating embeddings.
  • Contribute to backend APIs, for example using FastAPI, to expose ML and AI capabilities.
  • Assist with integrating AI models into applications and support deployment processes.
  • Write clean, modular, and testable Python code following software development best practices.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers and cross-functional teams to deliver new features.
  • Debug, test, and optimize machine learning models and pipelines for reliability and performance.
  • Stay informed about developments in AI, ML, and Generative AI technologies.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
  • 0 to 3 years of experience or strong academic and project experience in AI or machine learning.
  • Good programming skills in Python and solid problem-solving ability.
  • Basic knowledge of machine learning concepts, NLP techniques, and model evaluation methods.
  • Exposure to libraries such as NumPy, Pandas, scikit-learn, PyTorch, or TensorFlow.
  • Familiarity with Generative AI concepts including LLMs, prompt engineering, or RAG is beneficial.
  • Basic understanding of APIs and backend development.
  • Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of Git and standard software development practices.
  • Willingness to learn quickly and work in a fast-paced environment.

About the Team

The Digital Products and Solutions (DPS) organization develops software solutions for both internal and external customers. The Software Application and Engineering department focuses on building scalable digital products across several domains.

Current product areas include Asset Performance Management, Energy Management, Asset Monitoring, Asset Health Prediction, Customer Portals and AI-assisted applications, Connectivity and Edge solutions, Backend core services, and professional digital services.
