About the Role

Siemens Energy is looking for an AI/Machine Learning Engineer to help build and maintain machine learning solutions that support business outcomes. The role involves working with data scientists, software engineers, and product managers to design, develop, and maintain machine learning models and workflows.

You will work with raw data, improve algorithms for performance, and integrate AI capabilities into applications. The position focuses on delivering reliable ML pipelines and enabling practical AI features within digital products.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in building and maintaining machine learning and basic generative AI pipelines including data preprocessing, training, evaluation, and inference.
• Support development of simple RAG-based and NLP workflows under guidance.
• Perform text processing tasks such as data cleaning, parsing, chunking, and generating embeddings.
• Contribute to backend APIs, for example using FastAPI, to expose ML and AI functionalities.
• Help integrate AI models into applications and assist with deployment activities.
• Write clean, modular, and testable Python code following standard development practices.
• Work with senior engineers and cross-functional teams to deliver product features.
• Debug, test, and optimize machine learning models and pipelines to improve performance and reliability.
• Stay informed about developments in AI, machine learning, and generative AI technologies.

What You Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
• 0–3 years of experience, or strong academic or project background in AI and machine learning.
• Programming proficiency in Python.
• Understanding of machine learning concepts, NLP fundamentals, and model evaluation methods.
• Experience with libraries such as NumPy, Pandas, scikit-learn, PyTorch, or TensorFlow.
• Familiarity with generative AI concepts such as LLMs, prompt engineering, or retrieval-augmented generation is beneficial.
• Basic understanding of APIs and backend development.
• Exposure to cloud platforms like AWS or Azure is considered a plus.
• Working knowledge of Git and standard software development practices.
• Ability to learn quickly and adapt in a fast-moving development environment.
