The Infosys Springboard Virtual Internship is a free online internship run on Infosys Springboard, the company's free learning platform. You pick a technology track, finish the recommended courses, then build a project and get an Infosys internship certificate. Each edition has a number: 6.0 ran in 2025 and 7.0 in 2026.

Status on 30 October 2026: closed. Edition 7.0 took self-nominations until 31 March 2026, and the course work had to be finished by 5 May 2026. No edition 8.0 has been announced. Edition 6.0 was announced in late May 2025 and 7.0 closed in March 2026, so the next edition will most likely open between March and June 2027. Eligibility

  • You must have passed Class 12 or an equivalent exam. Infosys's own sustainability reporting lists this as the base requirement for Springboard virtual internships.
  • You should be studying for a graduate or postgraduate degree, or have finished one. Any stream: B.Tech, BCA, B.Sc, BBA, MBA, MCA and others.
  • Working professionals can't apply.
  • No minimum CGPA or percentage was stated for 7.0, and no work experience is needed.
  • For 7.0, listings reported the 2025, 2026 and 2027 batches as eligible (one also included 2024), and said people who took part in editions 1.0 to 6.0 could not join again.
  • You must finish the prerequisite Springboard courses for your track before the project starts.

Infosys publishes the full rules for each edition only inside the Springboard portal after you log in. Read them there before you nominate yourself, because the batches allowed change from one edition to the next.

How the internship works

  1. Register on Infosys Springboard as a learner. Use the name on your ID proof, because it goes on the certificate.
  2. Complete your learner profile and open the Virtual Internship section.
  3. Self-nominate and pick one track. In 7.0 you could not switch tracks once you started.
  4. Finish all the recommended courses for the track by the course deadline (5 May 2026 in 7.0).
  5. Download your course completion certificate, pick a problem statement for your track and build the project.
  6. Submit the project report on the portal. After evaluation, the internship certificate appears under "My Certificates".

The 7.0 process as reported had no separate test or interview. The main gate is finishing the prerequisite courses on time. Colleges that push the programme report large groups getting through: Vidya Academy of Science and Technology in Kerala said 119 of its students were selected for Season 6 in January 2026.

Stipend and certificate

There is no stipend. The internship is free, and what you get is an Infosys internship certificate plus the course certificates you earn along the way. It is not a job offer and does not lead to a guaranteed Infosys interview. For Infosys roles with interviews, look at HackWithInfy and other hiring contests.

Timeline of past editions

EditionKey dates
6.0 (2025)Announced by Infosys email on 28 May 2025, with nominations open until 2 June 2025. Selections went out in batches into early 2026 (one college reported Batch 13 in March 2026).
7.0 (2026)Self-nomination deadline 31 March 2026; course completion by 5 May 2026; project and certificate after that.
8.0Not announced as of 30 October 2026.

We could not verify dates for editions 1.0 to 5.0 from Infosys sources, so they are left out.

What changed over the years

  • 7.0 opened earlier in the year (March) than 6.0 (late May to June).
  • 7.0 was reported to bar anyone who had done an earlier edition, so it is a one-time internship per person.
  • The tracks in 7.0 were AI, Angular Full Stack, Python, Java and Data Visualization. Tracks can change with each edition.

Tips before the next edition

  • Create your Springboard account now and finish a few free courses in the track you want. The prerequisite course list is long, and the course deadline comes quickly.
  • Ask your college placement cell if it is a Springboard partner. Colleges often share the nomination link with students first.
  • Watch out for paid "Infosys internship" offers on social media. The real one is free and runs only on the Springboard portal.
