The IIT Tirupati Summer Internship 2025 is an exciting opportunity for pre-final year students to gain hands-on experience in their respective fields. The program runs from May 12, 2025, to July 11, 2025, offering research exposure under the guidance of esteemed faculty members.

Eligibility Criteria
Students from recognized universities pursuing the following degrees are eligible:
- B.E./B.Tech./B.Sc./M.Sc./B.A./M.A. (or equivalent)
- Must be in the pre-final year of their course
- Minimum CGPA/Percentage requirements vary depending on the department
Available Departments & Selection Criteria
1. Computer Science and Engineering
- Eligibility: BE/B.Tech in CSE/EE/Equivalent with a minimum CGPA of 7.5
- Selection Process:
- Online Coding Test
- Interview
- Required Documents:
- Programming skill assessment (C, C++, Java, Python, Linux Scripting)
- No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the institute
2. Electrical Engineering
- Eligibility: BE/B.Tech with 8 CGPA or 85% (No backlog until the 6th semester)
- Selection Process:
- Departmental scrutiny of applications
- Selection of the top 10 students
- Required Documents:
- Updated transcripts (marksheets)
- CV with references
3. Chemical Engineering
- Eligibility: BE/B.Tech in Chemical Engineering or allied branches with CGPA > 7.5 or 75% marks
- Selection Process:
- Shortlisting based on CGPA & Statement of Purpose (SOP)
- Interview (if required)
- Required Documents:
- Resume (2-3 pages)
- Updated marksheets
- Statement of Purpose (300 words)
4. Mechanical Engineering
- Eligibility: BE/B.Tech in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Robotics, Aerospace, Material Science, Metallurgy, or Biotechnology with CGPA > 7.5 or 65% marks
- Selection Process:
- Departmental scrutiny
- Selection of the top 10 students
- Required Documents:
- CV (maximum 1 page)
- Statement of Purpose (200 words)
5. Civil and Environmental Engineering
- Eligibility: BE/B.Tech in Civil Engineering with CGPA > 7.5 or 70% marks
- Selection Process:
- Review of applications by the department
- Selection of top 10 candidates
- Required Documents:
- CV with references
- Updated marksheets
6. Mathematics & Statistics
- Eligibility:
- UG (B.Sc/BA in Mathematics or Statistics) – Completed at least 3 semesters
- Integrated MSc – Completed at least 2 years
- MSc (Mathematics/Statistics)
- UG Engineering (B.Tech/BE) – Completed at least 2 years
- Other Science disciplines (B.Sc Physics, Chemistry, BCA, etc.) – Completed at least 2 years
- Selection Process:
- Minimum CGPA of 7.5
- At least 4 mathematics/statistics courses in UG
- Required Documents:
- One-page proposal
- No Objection Certificate (NOC)
7. Chemistry
- Eligibility:
- UG (B.Sc Chemistry) – Completed at least 3 semesters
- Integrated MSc (Chemistry/Chemical Sciences) – Completed at least 2 years
- MSc Chemistry – Completed at least 2 semesters
- Selection Process:

8. Physics
- Eligibility:
- UG (B.Sc Physics) – Completed at least 3 semesters
- Integrated MSc (Physics) – Completed at least 2 years

9. Humanities & Social Sciences
- Eligibility:
- Must have completed the first year of PG in Humanities and Social Sciences
- Preference given to PG degree holders
- Minimum CGPA of 7.5 or 75% marks
- Selection Process:
- No restrictions; top students chosen
- Required Documents:
- Statement of Purpose (SOP)
- Letter of Recommendation
Stipend & Benefits
- Top 5 students per department will receive a monthly stipend of ₹5,000.
- Free accommodation will be provided to all selected candidates.
- Opportunity to work on live research projects under the mentorship of IIT Tirupati faculty.
