IIT Goa Summer Internship: Guide to Application and Eligibility

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Goa offers its Summer Internship Program, providing students an opportunity to gain research experience. This internship is available in two tracks – Track A (Paid) and Track B (Unpaid/Partially Paid). The application window for the 2025 cycle closed on April 15, 2025. The next cycle is expected to open around the same time next year. While waiting for the next cycle, review the eligibility requirements and prepare your documents. Program overview

Internship duration

• The 2025 internship ran from May 16, 2025, to July 15, 2025.
• The duration can range from a minimum of 6 weeks to a maximum of 2 months.
• The exact start and end dates can be negotiated with the assigned faculty mentor after selection.

Mode of internship

• This internship is strictly offline. Selected candidates must be present on the IIT Goa campus for the entire duration.

Eligibility criteria

• Open only to students from institutions other than IIT Goa.
• Applicants must be enrolled in undergraduate (B.A., B.Sc., B.Tech., Dual Degree) or postgraduate (M.A., M.Sc., M.C.A.) programs.
• M.Tech. students are not eligible for this program.

Tracks and stipend details

Track A (Paid Internship)

• Selected candidates receive a stipend of ₹5000 per month.
• The total stipend for the 2-month duration is ₹10,000.

Track B (Unpaid/Partially Paid Internship)

• Some positions in Track B may come with partial remuneration. Others are purely voluntary.

Accommodation and facilities

• Selected interns are housed in on-campus hostels on a twin-sharing basis.
• Hostel charges are as per institute norms.
• Mess Charges:
  • A one-time transportation and ambulance charge of ₹500 is applicable.
  • Last year, the mess charge was ₹240 per day for four meals or ₹170 per day on a monthly subscription. The final rates for future cycles will be announced later.

2. Fill the Application Form:
   • Track A Form: Apply Here

3. Upload Required Documents:
   • A single PDF file containing all relevant academic certificates, marksheets, and bonafide certificates (if available).
   • The file name should be in the format: JOBID-FIRSTNAME-LASTNAME.pdf (e.g., ENGR101-RAHUL-SHARMA.pdf).
   • Maximum file size: 1MB.
4. Submit the Form before the deadline.

• Applications for the 2025 cycle closed on April 15, 2025.
• Results for the 2025 cycle were announced on April 25, 2025.

While filling out the application form, ensure that you provide the following details accurately:

• Full Name
• Email ID (ensure it is active for future communication)

• Job ID applied for
• Title of the ongoing degree program
• College/University Name
• Year of joining
• Institute Roll Number
• Current CGPA (out of 10)
• 10th & 12th CGPA (out of 10)
• Other relevant degrees (if any)
• Additional skills, awards, or relevant achievements

Selection process

• After the application deadline, the selection committee reviews all applications based on academic records and suitability for the project.
• Final selection results are announced.
• Selected candidates receive an official email confirmation along with further instructions.

Important notes

• Completion Certificate: Interns must complete at least 6 weeks of the internship to be eligible for a certificate.
• Bonafide Certificate: A bonafide certificate from the parent institution must be submitted before joining.
• Accommodation Extension: Hostel stay extensions are subject to availability and require prior approval.
• Rules & Regulations: Interns must follow IIT Goa’s guidelines and hostel regulations.
