Role Purpose

The Graduate Engineer Trainee will support software testing activities for products, platforms, or solutions delivered to clients. The role focuses on preparing test cases, executing testing processes, and ensuring the solution meets defined quality assurance standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Understand testing requirements and design test cases for the assigned product or solution.
• Create test plans based on business requirements and translate them into testable scenarios.
• Apply Wipro's testing practices including model based testing to generate efficient test cases.
• Ensure test cases undergo peer review to minimize rework and maintain quality standards.
• Collaborate with development teams to capture test scenarios and maintain version control.
• Define testing scope, parameters, and criteria, and participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
• Automate stages of the testing life cycle using tools such as VB macros, scheduling tools, and GUI automation.
• Design and execute automation frameworks and produce relevant reports.
• Develop and automate tests by setting up environments, designing test plans, creating scenarios, and executing validation cases.
• Log defects with clear descriptions and reproducible steps according to project guidelines.
• Track testing progress, detect bugs, and submit defect reports.
• Ensure deliverables meet defined service level agreements and project standards.
• Prepare and release testing status dashboards at the end of each execution cycle for stakeholders.
• Provide usability and serviceability feedback while identifying potential quality risks.

Status Reporting and Customer Interaction

• Maintain regular status reporting for testing progress and execution activities.
• Ensure professional communication with customers through emails, defect reports, and calls.
• Deliver weekly status reports, execution reports, and update dashboards within the test management repository.
• Record accurate effort data in tools such as eCube, TMS, and other project trackers.
• Respond to customer queries on time and maintain service quality without internal or external complaints.

Performance Metrics

• Ensure accurate understanding of test requirements and deliver error free testing outcomes with full SLA compliance.
• Improve testing efficiency and quality through timely execution, issue resolution within turnaround time, and positive customer satisfaction scores.
