Role Overview

As a Purchasing Associate within the Purchasing Support Centre (PSC), you will learn while contributing to daily operational work alongside experienced global users and supply chain professionals. The role involves supporting purchasing activities for trucks, buses, and Penta sites across Volvo Group.

Main Activities and Responsibilities

• Maintain handler logs and support portfolio activities, order management, and priority aftermarket requisition handling.
• Manage RFQ processes including launching requests, following up for supplier quotes, and addressing supplier queries in coordination with buyers and cross functional teams.
• Handle supplier price discrepancies and assist in resolving invoice or payment related issues.
• Compile and analyze supplier quotations, prepare preliminary summaries, and develop cost breakdowns for parts and suppliers.
• Resolve portfolio related issues with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Perform analytical tasks such as price inconsistency analysis, 80/20 analysis, ABC analysis, volume trend analysis, supplier dashboard creation, supplier spend analysis, part price evolution, cost per KG analysis, and supplier deep dive analysis.
• Support supplier integration activities including establishing EDI connections, supplier portal access, and supplier base administration such as code creation or updates.
• Assist buyers and management with taxonomy, segmentation, dashboards, and departmental reporting.
• Support portfolio analysis, data cleanup, and coordination of agreement approval workflows.

Education and Knowledge

• BE or B.Tech in Mechanical, Automobile, Electrical and Electronics, or Industrial Engineering and Management.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes and cost structures.
• Knowledge of MS Office tools with advanced Excel capabilities.
