Within Volvo Group Purchasing, the Purchasing Strategy & Digitalization (PS&D) function operates as a Centre of Excellence. The team helps guide the strategic direction of purchasing by supporting digitalization, governance, harmonization, and continuous improvement initiatives. These efforts are carried out in close collaboration with line functions and global stakeholders.
What You Will Do
The role is part of the Purchasing Support Centre, which supports global purchasing communities across trucks, buses, and Penta operations. The team works with suppliers and internal stakeholders to deliver tactical purchasing activities while supporting buyers and managers with analysis and operational tasks.
- Maintain handler logs and manage portfolio activities, including order management and priority aftermarket requisitions.
- Support RFQ management by launching requests, following up with suppliers, and addressing queries in coordination with buyers and cross functional teams.
- Compile and analyze supplier quotations, prepare preliminary summaries, and develop cost breakdowns for parts and suppliers.
- Resolve portfolio related issues with suppliers and internal teams, including supplier price discrepancy management.
- Perform analytical tasks such as price inconsistency analysis, 80/20 analysis, ABC analysis, volume trend analysis, supplier dashboards, material cost reports, and supplier spend analysis.
- Assist with supplier integration activities such as establishing EDI connections, supplier portal access, and supplier base administration tasks.
- Support taxonomy and segmentation initiatives and maintain departmental dashboards and reports.

The Volvo Group Purchasing Support Center is a young and energetic team delivering purchasing related activities to global purchasing organizations. The group works closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders while supporting operational purchasing processes and solving portfolio related challenges.
