About the Role
UST is looking for a Validation Technician to join its Semiconductor Product Validation work (listed as Tester I). The role focuses on post-silicon validation of platform hardware and software.
Responsibilities
- Learn to install and configure Microsoft operating systems.
- Identify the test cases to execute from the available set, with a basic understanding of platform HW/SW components for post-silicon work. Knowledge of benchmark tools, stress and stability testing, and power management is expected.
- Reproduce reported failures in the required platform configurations and manage defects.
- Apply basic knowledge of system BIOS, UEFI framework and architecture, USB, multimedia, drivers, camera, disk, desktop, power management, Type C and silicon technologies. Analyze system power states and device states, and work through test strategies.
- Be ready to work to the client schedule.
- Attend standup meetings and understand requirements before testing. Be flexible with work location and timing, and be ready to work with systems on racks.
- Understand various Windows product features and execute test cases. Show strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to analyze and debug issues.
- Communicate well and work effectively with different teams.
- Assemble computer systems.
- Understand, articulate, and isolate issues observed during test execution.
