What success looks like in this role
This short term student technical role helps participants build practical knowledge in a specific technical discipline. Work is carried out under the guidance of a supervisor, manager, or senior team member while gaining hands on exposure to real projects.
The position may be structured as a temporary or alternating work arrangement, allowing students to continue their academic or vocational training during non working periods.
Technical Support
- Assist in troubleshooting hardware or software related issues.
- Help resolve network connectivity concerns and support system configuration tasks.
- Support IT teams with the management and setup of company devices.
Software Development
- Write basic code or scripts used in internal tools or small projects.
- Support testing activities by identifying and reporting software bugs.
- Take part in code reviews while learning version control and secure coding practices.
Data Analysis and Reporting
- Assist with gathering, cleaning, and analyzing datasets.
- Create simple reports, dashboards, or visual presentations using tools such as Excel or PowerPoint.
Networking and Infrastructure Support
- Help with installing and configuring network hardware.
- Monitor network performance and highlight potential issues.
- Assist in troubleshooting hardware, security, or infrastructure related concerns.
DevSecOps
- Support automation of routine operational tasks using scripts or programming tools.
- Assist with cloud infrastructure related activities.
- Help maintain CI/CD pipelines and support application deployment tasks.
Additional Responsibilities
- Support project coordination activities and track progress where required.
- Assist with research tasks and preparation of reports or presentations.
- Compile and organize information for team activities or project documentation.
The role is designed for individuals who are building foundational technical skills and typically have less than one year of experience in a related area.
