Overview

Content Author

The Content Author is an entry point into the content team's career path. The role combines hands-on content authorship with ownership of the content production process. You will analyze source material from multiple resources and write, edit, and update clear, accurate, customer-facing content. You will also handle technical production tasks such as coding, copyreading, merging, rendering, loading, and validating so that content moves through the team's systems and into publication.

You will work under the guidance of senior team members while building independent proficiency in the team's content, processes, and systems. Over time, you will take on broader responsibility. Specific product knowledge is not required at entry, since the role is built around general content and systems skills that apply across the product portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Read source material from multiple places and write, edit, and update content so it is clear and correct, with guidance from senior team members.
  • Handle the full content production process in Adobe Experience Manager (AEM), including coding, copyreading, editing, merging, DITA formatting, and content checks.
  • Turn confusing, incomplete, or mixed-up source material into clear, well-organized content for customers.
  • Own the accuracy and completeness of your content, working independently on familiar tasks and asking for help on harder ones.
  • Spot routine content problems, fix what you can, and know when to ask for help.
  • Meet deadlines by managing your own workload and working well with teammates.
  • Help test and review content to make sure it works and reads well across different formats.
  • Suggest small process improvements when you spot them.
  • Use your product knowledge to improve workflow and content for strategic products.
  • Learn the team's content, systems, and tools, and build general product knowledge over time.

Required Qualifications

  • Process-oriented, comfortable following and improving structured, multi-step content workflows.
  • Attention to detail, with consistently accurate, complete, and quality-checked work.
  • Strong writing skills across content types, with clear and professional output.
  • A consistent, appropriate tone and style when writing and editing.
  • Ability to work from incomplete, conflicting, or multi-source information and know when to escalate.
  • Comfortable learning new product context quickly. Deep expertise in a single product is not required at entry.
  • Works well in a team environment and understands team member roles.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exposure to AI-assisted content tools or workflows.
  • Familiarity with knowledge maps or other structured-content models.
  • Basic content or data analytics skills.
  • Experience with DITA or other structured-authoring frameworks.
  • Experience working in a component content management system (CCMS).
  • Broader content creation experience, such as digital, consumer-facing, or SEO-oriented content.
  • Strong product knowledge in a strategic product area.
