Tata Communications Hiring Jr Customer Service Executive (Chennai) | Freshers Eligible

Structural Designer Engineer with 0 to 2 years of experience in structural design and analysis of steel structures such as lattice towers, monopoles and guy masts, using a range of tools and techniques. The role also covers analysis of foundations for steel structures.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform structural design and/or assessment of telecommunication structures, and prepare the related documentation using Indian and international standards, covering steel lattice towers, steel and concrete monopoles, and rooftop poles and antenna mounts.
• Carry out quality checks on assessments against client requirements.
• Provide modification or strengthening solutions when a member fails.
• Analyse existing modifications for monopoles (flat plates, bridge stiffeners, transition stiffeners, extensions) and for self-supporting towers (half pipes on leg members, member replacements, bracing changes).
• Study and analyse all client inputs, including structure information, antenna details, shelter information, mount or strengthening structural modelling, connection drawings, lease area details and technologies.
• Analyse anchor bolts and baseplates for telecommunication structures.
• Design and analyse foundations such as isolated footings, mat footings and pile foundations, and analyse foundation modifications such as jacketing and composite foundations.
• Develop Excel tools for manual calculations performed outside the software in use.
• Carry out engineering review of construction drawings prepared by CAD technicians.
• Prepare the Bill of Materials (BOM) and technical documentation for production.
• Conduct design reviews and act on feedback for continuous improvement.

Knowledge Required

• Working knowledge of Eurocodes and Australian codes and standards, including AS3995-1994, ANSI/TIA-222-G and ANSI/TIA-222-H, IBC2015, BS EN 1993-1-1, IS 875 Part III (2015) and IS 800 (2007).
• Good understanding of telecom networks, mainly cell site structures.
• Strong knowledge of steel members, mounting standards, member connections, bolts and brackets.
